By plane:

Two airports serve Houston: Bush Intercontinental (IAH) and Hobby (HOU). Hobby is closer to Rice and mostly serves Southwest Airlines. IAH is 30-45 minutes away and most Continental flights come to IAH. You can always take a taxi to and from the airport, but there is also a shuttle company called SuperShuttle (call them at 888-888-6025 or see supershuttle.com) that runs shuttles to and from both Hobby and IAH. The cost is $27 from IAH and $23 from Hobby ($7 for each extra person). Ticket counters are located inside the lower level baggage claim areas in each airport.
